Hi,
I hope everyone is doing well these days. I wanted to remind you of some things going on this week:
Wednesday, October 2- Please have your child wear red, white and blue for 2-5 inauguration day.
Friday, October 4- STEM Day- Please have your child wear his/her STEM shirt on this day. (dark blue)
Language Arts- We are discussing wordless stories and how they are different from books with words. We are discussing nonfiction and fiction books and what makes them different. We are writing a narrative about our Fall break. We are working on using transition words, capitalization, and punctuation in our writing. We are working on writing complete sentences with details.
Math- We will continue to work on Place Value. The children are doing really well with this. We will be taking an assessment this week to see how we've done for this unit. We are working on word problems/story problems. We are working on looking for key words in the problems, setting up the problem and learning to draw pics for the problem. (we draw circles and discuss not being artist with word problems in math. :) .
Science- We are discussing magnets this week to get ready for our STEM challenge at the end of the week. We will be making a path and a game piece that can go from start to finish line on the path. We are discussing what is attracted to magnets and exploring with items in the classroom.
